When women think of the term bully regarding relationships, the most common thought is of physical intimidation. In this chapter, we will see that bullying extends beyond the physical realm and into the mental, emotional, and even spiritual realms. Insecurity is the main characteristic of the Bully type. The Bully gets pleasure from placing you in a position of submission. His goal is to appear powerful to make you feel powerless. His insecurity issues are coupled with low self-esteem, which means he wants to strip you of your dignity and self-esteem as well. You will notice that the Bully not only sacrifices your self-esteem but may also inflict physical, verbal, emotional, mental, and spiritual abuse. Just like the other types of boys, the Bully does not fully trust God or have complete faith in Him; as such, he does not know who he is in God and is thus unable to love you with the love of Jesus. If you are in a relationship with a Bully, he may say he loves you and that his bullying is often a mistake that will not happen again, but you may find that the mistake happens regularly anyway.
