Faith, as defined by Merriam-Webster, means (1) complete trust or confidence in someone or something and (2) strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. Putting your faith in God is probably one of the most difficult experiences you may encounter, especially when it comes to choosing your mate. To put your faith in something you cannot see, touch, or hear seems too uncertain and leaves too much room for error. That is exactly what God wants you to do, however. God is faithful to you and the Scripture used above (1 Corinthians 10:12–13) confirms that He honors every promise He has ever made. God is always there to help you, but you have to do your part and have faith in Him. When you make carnal decisions based on self, you do not trust God to be the perfect, all-knowing God who always does what He says He will do.
